HERSHEY, PA – Coach Troy Mann instructing players, getting set for Friday in Binghamton (Chocolate Hockey)
The Hershey Bears continue their preparations for yet another three games in three night stretch starting Friday in Binghamton. The Bears will be on the road and then return home for games against Bridgeport on Saturday and a match up against Providence, for the first time this season. The Bears are playing their best hockey of the season. They have just one regulation loss in their last 17 games and find themselves just a win away from having the best record in the league.
HERSHEY, PA – The Lehigh Valley Phantoms celebrate their OT win over Hershey on Sunday night (Kyle Mace / Chocolate Hockey)
Sunday night was a chance for the Hershey Bears to continue their dominance against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and East Division. After a big OT win the night before against Wilkes-Barre, Hershey’s division lead was at five points coming into Sunday. A day win for Wilkes-Barre over Bridgeport would promise the Bears could not gain any ground, but still hold that five point lead.
Looking for their fifth straight win against Lehigh Valley, the Bears and Phantoms went back and forth all night long.

Hershey and the Norfolk Admirals faced off before the 49th Super Bowl Sunday afternoon, but the Bears game might have had more story lines than the big game. Hershey, coming off of a shootout loss after a five game winning streak, came into Sunday looking to bounce back with a big win.
The Admirals were making their last trip to Giant Center in the regular season after the announcement of their departure from the AHL and move California.

The Hershey Bears wore Groundhog Day sweaters for the second year in a row (we have an up close look at the jerseys this year) and they once again where a huge hit around the internet.
Among the players though, not so much. “You really want to know (my opinion),” goalie Philipp Grubauer said after the game. “I was scared a little bit before the game. I couldn’t see the puck, really, because all that stuff was going on, on the jersey.”
The all jerseys are being auctioned off on MeiGray.com, where fans will be able to bid on them until February 26th.
Below the jump, check out photos of the jerseys from warm-ups and the game.
HERSHEY, PA – Bears players celebrate Connor Carrick’s GWOTG vs. Binghamton Saturday night. (Kyle Mace / Chocolate Hockey)
Hershey was looking to extend their East Division lead heading into the AHL All-Star break. With a one point lead on Wilkes-Barre with three games in hand, the Bears were riding a three game winning streak into Saturday night’s game against Binghamton.
The Bears are extremely close to another milestone. Hershey is just six three goals away from their 20,000th regular season goal in team history. After a string of 17 goals in three games, the milestone could be just a game or two away.
After a weekend stay in Hershey, goaltender Justin Peters was recalled by the Washington Capitals early Monday morning. Peters hasn’t seen any game action in over a month, since former Bear Braden Holtby has played in 23 consecutive games. The Caps decided to gave Peters a chance to get some of the rust off before returning to the NHL, where he is scheduled to start on Saturday against the Dallas Stars.
The Hershey Bears are giving away one of the most unique items in team history on Saturday night January 10. The first 5,000 fans will receive a Nathan Walker Snow Globe, courtesy of Metro Bank. The snow globe pictures the Australian native in shorts and flip-flops, holding his hockey stick, next to a kangaroo. Australia is now starting its summer season.
