This past Wednesday night was a special one for Sweetest Hockey as it was our first ever Hershey Bears viewing party! This was all in conjunction with the Hershey Bears Wives, Hershey Bears Booster Club, abc27, The Old Barn Hockey Show, and Fire Alley with the proceeds from a raffle going to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Pennsylvania.

After a rough night against St. John’s the night before, the Bears looked to bounce back and show they were just playing an April Fools joke a day early. That didn’t seem like the case at the start of the game. With Binghamton scoring within the first minute of each period, the Bears would be down three goals at some points. It sure looked like a loss, but Hershey being Hershey they scored three goals in the third period to get the one point. That would be the only point they would get as Bingo grabbed the other point as they beat Hershey in a shootout, 6-5.

A big crowd, a winning streak and the first home telecast of a Bears game since the Calder Cup championship game. You would have thought the game had all the elements of an eighth straight win for the Bears. The game turned out to be a struggle for the Bears as they dropped this one, 3-2

After pulling off a third period come back last night, the Bears did it again tonight, but this time needed extra time to do it. Garrett Mitchell was the hero of the game, scoring in the shootout to give Hershey a 3-2 win.

It was a hard hitting comeback in more ways than one. The last time the Charlotte Checkers visited Giant Center, they eliminated the Bears from the playoffs. This time the Bears played the third period, like their playoff lives depended on it, scoring two goals and getting the victory over the Charlotte, 2-1.
The Hershey Bears will be playing an outdoor game for a second straight year, but this time they will be hosting the party.

In a rematch from last night, the Albany Devils and Hershey Bears faced off for two important points. Hershey trying to cut their magic number down to 14, Albany trying to get that final, eight playoff spot. Hershey would get those two points and the win over Albany, 4-1.

After a tough road trip up to St. John’s, the Bears were looking to bounce back with a three in three this weekend. Friday night was the first of that three in three as the Bears face offed against the Adirondack Phantoms. It was like any other Bears-Phantoms game: penalties and goals. This time the Bears came out on top, 6-3.
Two notes before this week of Snapshots. #1- Last week you might have recognized we did not post a Snapshots. Unfortunately, there was only one game last week and during warm-ups of that game, my photographs did not turn out correctly with an issue with the exposure that was too radical to fix. #2- Next week the Bears are heading up north.
