The Hershey Bears announced Sunday afternoon that rookie defenseman Connor Hobbs will miss six to eight weeks of action with a fractured wrist, sustained Saturday night in Hershey’s loss to Toronto.
Connor Hobbs left Saturday night’s Bears game with an apparent upper-body injury.
Hobbs, 20, has played in nine games for Hershey this season.
The Hershey Bears announced Saturday afternoon Paul Carey will be out the rest of the season after having shoulder surgery Friday at Hershey Medical Center. Carey, 27, in 44 games with Hershey this season posted a scoring line of 13-18-31, fourth best on Hershey’s roster.
PennLive.com writer Dave Sottile is reporting that Bears forward Liam O’Brien will be out the next four to six weeks with an MCL injury. O’Brien, 21, has played in 12 games for Hershey this season, scoring one goal and one assist. This is the second big loss for Hershey in as many weeks as it was learned that Jakub Vrana would be missing 3-4 months after wrist surgery.
Yesterday afternoon, we learned of the loss of Jakub Vrana for the next three to four months for the Hershey Bears after a wrist injury that was sustained during practice last week.
Hershey was working on a defensive zone drill when Vrana got caught in a battle in the corner. “His stick caught in the boards and consequently his wrist went into the boards funny,” head coach Troy Mann said. “We thought he was going to be okay, but then it swelled up overnight.”
