Looking for hockey action this weekend? The Lebanon Valley Dutchmen will complete their regular season schedule with a home game at history Hersheypark Arena at 5 pm on Saturday, February 17 against Elmira College.
Chris Bourque picked up his first two points of the 2018 Olympics with two assists in a 2-1 victory over Slovakia.
Bourque assisted on both of Ryan Donato’s goals in the game, both on the power play.
For some local hockey fans, Thursday night provided a special treat at the Giant Food Store in Linglestown. The captain of the 1980 USA Hockey team Mike Eruzione made an appearance in association with Coca-Cola to meet fans and sign autographs in the store.
Eruzione is one of the most recognizable names in United States sports history, scoring the game-winning goal in the “Miracle on Ice” game against the Soviet Union, a moment that Sports Illustrated would be named the greatest sports moment of the 20th century.

The game will kickoff at 10 pm EST on Thursday; a noon start on Friday in South Korea.

Despite some flight delays getting to South Korea, Chris Bourque had the experience of a lifetime Friday night.
The 2018 Winter Olympics officially kicked off with the Opening Ceremonies in Pyeongchang, South Korea just as the United States was waking up Friday morning. With PSY’s “Gangnam Style” blaring in the background, Bourque and his fellow Americans made their way into the 35,000-seat Olympic Stadium. Over 240 members of Team USA took the trip around the stadium to wave at the crowd, which included Vice President Mike Pence and his wife.

After the news broke Monday night of former Hershey Bears forward Andrew Carroll’s death, we are heartbroken to provide a sad update to the story.
On Tuesday, Chicago Police confirmed Carroll “jumped from the upper level roadway to the lower level roadway on his own accord.”
The 32-year-old was found around 4:30 AM on Sunday morning at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. He was pronounced dead before 3 PM Monday afternoon.

Former Hershey Bear Andrew Carroll has died at the age of 32.
Carroll spent two seasons with the Hershey Bears, playing in 93 games for the Chocolate and White between 2010 and 2012. The Shoreview, Minnesota native played four seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, captaining their team two seasons in 2006-07 and 2008-09.
