Star Wars jerseys are always a hit among minor league hockey fans, and it was no different in Chocolate Town Sunday night. Hershey Bears fans raised over $49,000 for local charities including the Vista School, Ronald McDonald House of Central Pennsylvania, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Sunday night at Giant Center is the Hershey Bears second annual Star Wars night. The Bears will be auctioning off jerseys with a snowy Star Wars theme to them after the game for charity.

A yearly tradition at Giant Center returned on Sunday night as the Hershey Bears greeted some of their most loyal fans on the ice after the game for photos and autographs.
Thousands of fans flocked to the ice to get team photos, along with personal items like jerseys and sticks, signed by their favorite members of the team.
Saturday night at Giant Center the Hershey Bears wore specialty USA themed flag jerseys. The Bears would pick up a 6-1 victory over Lehigh Valley.
The Hershey Bears will sport American Flag jerseys on Saturday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day. The jerseys will be auctioned off postgame to fans with proceeds from the live auction going to Liberty USO at Fort Indiantown Gap and Veteran’s Trust Fund.
Prior to Sunday night’s game, forward Riley Barber’s mom dropped the ceremonial puck. Stacy Barber, a breast cancer survivor, was greeted by her son at center ice to take the puck drop in front of a packed Giant Center crowd.
The two exchanged a hug before she dropped the puck. Hartford captain Joe Whitney joined the two of them for the photo opportunity.
Hockey is back in Hershey, and despite the fact the Bears are still winless, Saturday night’s opening ceremony and Sunday night’s drama-filled game provided some fantastic photos.
